Dark chocolate truffles

The holiday season is upon us. We are crawling into our nests with warm tea, and bellies ready to get filled up to the breaking point.

Here I have the most simple little truffles ever!! When I say simple, I mean simple! I’m 5 talking ingredients and under 15 min. These are some fancy ass balls, loaded with protein and natural ingredients. I think you’ll be a bit blown away by the main ingredient of these bad boys.

What you need:

5 tbs rinsed and drain black beansyea, buddy you heard right!
2 tbs almond butteror nut butter of choice
4 tbs raw cacao powder
2 tbs agave or maple syrup
A lil pinch of salt

So the process to make these truffles are easier than learning the lyrics to Last Christmas. All you do is put the ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend them all together, until it forms a paste. If you need more liquid you add a little bit more maple syrup, until you get a “ball forming” consistency. When you’ve got your paste, you simply form it into balls, or whatever shape you want. Why not be a little bit extra and mold your truffles into a little turkey, or a mountain bike? By the way, why does the word “balls” need to be so immaturely funny? Maybe I’m just being the immature one…

After forming balls, you roll them in cacao powder, or whatever topping you’d like. I would recommend toppings such as matcha poweder, crushed nuts, melted dark chocolate, cacao nibs. Be creative! The list goes on!
