Maybe she's born with it – maybe it's her diet

We want that “Because You’re Worth It” hair, and that “Maybe it’s Maybelline” glowing skin. We turn to expensive, and chemically loaded products to get them. What our advertising isn’t telling us, is that real glowing skin, and silky hair starts from the inside. With the food you pop inside your body, together with your lifestyle choices.

Vitamin A – This little bad boy is essential for that glowing skin. When Vitamin A, or retinol, enters our bodies and works its magic, our body transforms it into beta carotene. Beta carotene helps our bodies with growth and repair, strengthen our immune systems, and keeps our skin moisty moist, slows down the aging process. It keeps the bounce in our hair, and helps our nails from getting brittle. One easy way to know where to find vitamin A, is to look at the color of certain fruits and vegetables. The more orange/red they are, the more vitamin A you’ll find! Great sources; Carrots, sweet potatoes, mangoes, tomatoes, butternut squash, red bell peppers, and even kale together with other leafy greens. Greens are just magic, simple as that.

Vitamin C – We all know how important vitamin C is for us. It helps us stay healthy by strengthening our immunity. Every time we get a cold we grab our oranges tighter than a juicy booty. Vitamin C can be found in essentially all fruits and vegetables, so eat them!! All day, every day! Every awaken moment you should be stuffing your face with it. And when you’re sleeping, you hook yourself up to an IV pumping it in all night. What Vitamin C does for our skin is to help in the production of collagen, which keeps skin from aging, and strengthens our hair and nails. This vitamin is water soluble which means that it doesn’t get stored in our bodies, meaning you really have to get it in your system every damn day! Great sources; the majority of fruits and vegetables, especially rep bell peppers, leafy greens, tomatoes, oranges, mangoes, berries, this list could go on for ages. Basically, get your servings of fruit and veg.

The Omegas – The omegas. A new season premier starting November 23 on ABC. Not really, but it could be an awesome title for a show. The omegas that I’m talking about is the healthy fats. The Omega 3s, 6s, and 9s. The most important one to get from your diet is the Omega 3s, since our bodies are unable to produce this nutrient itself. When we eat fat, it’s important tot get them from natural plant sources, and to avoid any saturated fats to all costs, which is primarily found in animal based fat sources and processed oils. Even our more natural sources of fat contains a certain amount of saturated fat, which is why you should keep your fat intake slim. You need to get your healthy fat for essential living so don’t get it twisted, but don’t make your fats the bulk of your daily food intake. What these healthy fats does,is to keep our skin moist, our hair silky and strong, helps to enhance certain vitamins, keeps our reproductive system healthy, (great sex drive, more sex – you look and feel like a sexy beast) and basically keeps us alive with proper body function. Great plant based sources to find our essential omega 3s is from; avocado, flax seeds, chia seeds and walnuts.

Antioxidants – Antioxidants are important for our skin. It’s like a little super hero who fights off all the free radicals and nasty stuff from our polluted air, which damage and age our skin. Pollution and free radicals causes our skin to oxidize, meaning making it loose it’s elasticity, cause aging and saggy wrinkles. Antioxidants = Anti oxidation. Tadaaa! The rule of thumb when i comes to finding antioxidant rich foods is the darker the color of the fruit, the more antioxidants lives in there. Where to go; dark leafy greens, berries such as blueberries and blackberries, eggplant, tomatoes, red bell peppers, tomatoes, dark chocolate, goji berries, beets, green tea (matcha!!). Dark green, dark purple, dark red, dark, dark, dark. Like our friend Kendrick Lamar says “The blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice.”

Lycopene – Lycopene is the antioxidant of the antioxidants when it comes to our skin. Primarily found in tomatoes and some other orangy fruits and veggies such as mangoes, papaya, and carrots. Lycopene is similar to beta carotene and helps to keep our skin firm and smooth. Lycopene, as any other antioxidant helps to protect our skin from oxidation and also against the suns UV rays. We can become a little scientific here and talk about the chemical bonds in lycopene. When we heat up Lycopene, the bonds bends, making it more easily absorbed by our bodies. So cook up a nice tomato sauce, grill or roast your tomatoes to get the extra extra Lycopene sauciness out of them.

Bring the spice – Never underestimate the spices you think is just there to give some flava flay to your food. Spices does way more than just adding flavor, it contains loads of healthy vitamins and minerals. Red spices such as cayenne pepper and chili contains a ton of vitamin C which, and the heat helps with circulation which both are extremely benefcitial to glowing skin. Another super spice is turmeric. Turmeric is a root, and when powdered down, it has a yellow color that easily stains everything. Seriously, everything. But, the yellow stains are worth it since this bad boy contains an extremely high amount of antioxidants, and slows down the aging process.

Lay of the titty juice – Dairy. This evil devil. Take a scissor and cut that nasty shit right out of your diet. Immediately!! Dairy is just bad for everything that has to do with the human body. We are not baby cows, so we are not supposed to drink it, sniff it, slurp it, or take it in any shape or form. The hormones in dairy causes hormonal imbalance in our bodies, leading to acne, and all kinds of not so pleasant things. If you want clear skin, don’t drink the any milk that came from a pair of boobies of any kind!!

Incorporating something from these food groups everyday, together with plenty of H2O and you’re setting yourself up for a sexy smooth baby face. Not only is it beneficial for your appearance, but also for your well being, which shouldn’t come to a big surprise. Good nutrients = healthy mind, body, soul = the best version of your gorgeous, sexy self.
